The Drowned Keeper Curio
What the tide does not return… it keeps.
Suspended between life and decay, a seahorse rises like a relic claimed by the deep — no longer drifting, but bound. Its fragile form stands preserved in quiet defiance, as though it has been chosen… or left behind.
Beneath it, a fractured quartz seabed glows faintly, like moonlight filtering through black water. Its crystalline veins resemble cracks in time itself — a surface that once moved, now stilled into silence.
Scattered remains — bone, shell, and coral — tell a softer, darker truth. Not of loss, but of transformation. Of what the ocean takes and reshapes into something unrecognisable… yet eternal.
Threaded through the piece, sea growth clings and curls like it has learned to thrive in absence. And from the depths, a pale shard of hemimorphite emerges — ghostlike, tidal, almost luminous — as if it remembers light, but no longer belongs to it.
This is not a scene.
It is a keeping place.
A shrine to what sank…
and was never meant to rise again.
